What is a Butt Lift?
A Buttock Lift is also known as a butt lift or “gluteoplasty (do not confuse it with buttock augmentation (“Brazilian Butt Lift” (BBL)). This procedure may be included in a body lift or may be performed separately. A buttock lift is ideal for people developing loose skin after dramatic weight loss. In this operation, excess skin and fat from significant weight loss, aging, or genetic factors in the buttock area can be improved by removing the excess skin and lifting the buttocks. This operation should not be confused with a “Brazilian butt lift,” which only adds volume using fat transfer.
In summary, a classic buttock lift involves only removing skin and fat through surgical excision and liposuction. Therefore, it will not typically make a butt larger. Nevertheless, fat transfer may be added to the buttocks in some cases, but in a lesser amount than a classic BBL. A personal consultation will determine what is best for you.
